Lucky enough to snag up a reservation for a party of 8 while in town and the experience was phenomenal. Since had a large party, our only option was to reserve one of the two Vault rooms that is basically a private room that we had to ourself for 3 hours. We arrived 30 mins early and our table was ready and we were greeted by what seemed like every staff member they had on the clock. We had a lot of the house ghee old fashioned drinks and they were amazing. We went through a variety of the food items and we enjoyed them all. I think the only thing I’d say that others may want to know for a vault room reservation is that the booking requires a minimum spend and since the food isn’t overly priced for what they offer, it may be difficult for you to hit the spend minimum. Our party was out to drink and we drank quite a lot but still barely made the spend minimum and we left with full and with food packed to go. 35 alcohol drinks and plenty of food. I’d imagine if we were not wanting to drink that night, we would struggle to hit the minimum spend. Overall- highly recommend! Do come thirsty and hungry for this experience!

I don't know, everything's super good here... One dish I really love is their Tandoori Masalah Lamb Chops Anw, thank you for moving our reservation to the private dining room, we felt really...special.

I really enjoyed the food and the overall ambiance of the restaurant—it had a great vibe, and the hospitality was welcoming. However, a few aspects of the service felt quite awkward. The staff kept approaching our table to take plates and dishes while we were still eating, which made the experience feel rushed and uncomfortable. It was quite noticeable, and honestly, a bit frustrating. Another issue is the 2.5-hour dining limit. While I understand time restrictions for reservations, the current policy feels unreasonable, especially considering the minimum spend requirement. A couple spending £200 should be given a more relaxed dining experience, especially when drinks are involved. Either the time limit should be extended, or the minimum spend should be adjusted to make it more practical. Would I return? Maybe—but I hope to see some improvements in these areas.

Had a lovely night here last night, the food was amazing. Big shoutout to one of the bartenders, unfortunately I was in such a food coma haze that I forgot her name. She helped us decide what to order and checked on us during our meal to see how we liked her recommendations. Otherwise service was fine, but she made it 5/5 stars. Portions were nice and big, but still would say the price is a little high.

I came here for a Valentine’s Day dinner with my husband. He had booked it back in November and was only able to get a 10:30 reservation, so we already had high expectations from the get go given such limited slots. We arrived early and asked if we could get seated earlier and staff member kind of just left us waiting outside which wasn’t the best first start. As it was a cold night we just decided to go back in and the maître de welcomed us in politely and was able to seat us straight away and we got our menus. Although we booked for the Valentine’s Day tasting menu, we were still able to order from main dinner menu and so I swapped my set dessert for the Rasmalai as I am not a fan of Gajar Halwa which was the only non-alcoholic dessert option out of the two on the set menu. We ordered the non-alcoholic drinks from the menu and I was slightly disappointed both in presentation and in taste. I’ve attached photos. Mine was just a weak rose drink in a martini glass with a one loose rose petal. The main food was delightful, it was authentic and homely yet still elevated. I particularly enjoyed the duck egg burji with crab and truffles and the gucchi malai mutter paneer. Desserts were presented beautiful and continued on from the mains in quality. Other than the non-alcoholic drinks I would definitely recommend Gymkhana the food was extremely filling and we left stuffed so make sure you come hungry so you can really enjoy the meal.

Food was great, the eggplant was a stand out dish. I appreciated they brought a little treat for my friend’s birthday. Overall, great food. I was absolutely bewildered to see that we were charged for drinking water. At £60 per person and over four courses, that just seems stingy. The time between courses was also a bit much. I found myself full after just the first course, because everything had digested before the mains came out. The experience was over 2 hours long. With so many servers just standing there, I expected people to periodically check in on us overall to see if we needed anything. I had to flag them down for a drink or to get the food packed up. Service was seemingly limited to someone pouring water into our glasses after every sip we took, reaching across the table constantly to do so. It was a bit disruptive and awkward. I wouldn’t care about these details so much if it wasn’t at the price point and accolades it’s at.

Gymkhana serves very delicious Indian food, and the puff pastry balls were incredible—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a burst of flavor. The butter chicken was also fantastic—rich, creamy, and packed with delicious spices. I was pleasantly surprised by how divine everything tasted. A great experience overall, especially for those looking for elevated Indian cuisine.

Food was simply delicious. Fresh and well sourced ingredients. Diverse flavors. Large variety of items on their menu. Service was excellent. Ambiance of the restaurant was slightly on the darker side.

Disappointed by My Own Expectations I’m surprised this restaurant holds two Michelin stars—I expected more. The meal started off promising, with well-spiced and flavorful starters. Tandoori prawns are a must. However, they forgot our aloo chaat, and there was an unreasonably long wait of over 30 minutes between starters and mains. We ordered all their signature dishes: deer biryani, tandoori lamb chops, lamb shank, butter chicken, and daal. Unfortunately, the experience was hit-and-miss. The biryani was dry and lacked flavor. The tandoori lamb chops were perfectly pink, tender, and delicious. The lamb shank, however, didn’t taste authentic—it needed more spice. The daal was disappointingly bland, with little more than a strong buttery taste. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected better execution and consistency.

Amazing! The best indian food I ever had! Only downside is how close the 2 people tables are from each other. They are so close you must move the table if you want to get up.

An incredible meal, flawless from start to finish. If you are looking for a restaurant to enjoy some of the best Indian food you had in your life then Gymkhana is the place to be! Highly recommend the venison keema naan from the starters and the chicken butter masala from the curries. Same some space for the delicious gajar halwa tart for desert as well.

Yesterday, my friends and I went to this place for dinner. Unfortunately, we left with questions about how this place could have earned 2 stars! Perhaps it’s just the price category. One would usually expect a great experience when visiting Michelin restaurants, but this place managed to completely ruin that expectation. - Atmosphere: The place was very loud, and the tables were quite close together. - Service: While the waiters were polite and helpful, they also seemed overly demanding. The menu lacked basic descriptions of ingredients, and it was overloaded with options. When you tried to take your time making a decision, the waiters kept coming by every two minutes to ask if you were ready. Another thing that was missing: when the food arrived, the waiters didn’t provide any information about the dishes (e.g., contents, sauces), which is something you’d typically get in other Michelin-starred restaurants. - Food: Although the food itself was tasty, it wasn’t always clear why it warranted Michelin stars. There was nothing particularly special about the presentation, and the portions were huge. We couldn’t finish all the dishes and ended up asking for a takeaway.

Gymkhana offers an exceptional dining experience with delicious Indian cuisine, exquisite flavors, and impeccable service. The ambiance is elegant yet cozy, making it perfect for special occasions. Highly recommend their tasting menu—every dish was a delight. Will definitely be returning!

This is one of the only four indian restaurants in the world with two michelin star and it didn't disappoint. Getting a table is also very hard and we had booked this weeks earlier. They had two options for lunch - a set menu and a la carte. We chose a la carte. Food and service was exemplary. Ambience was also nice.
